• Active Ingredient: It contains 50% (w/w) copper oxychloride as the active ingredient.
• Formulation: WP stands for Wettable Powder, which is easily mixed with water for application, typically as a foliar spray or soil drench.
• Mode of Action: It is a protectant, contact action fungicide. The copper ions released inhibit fungal enzyme activity and disrupt cell membranes, preventing spore germination and the spread of existing infections.

• Crops: It is commonly used on a variety of crops including potatoes, tomatoes, coffee, tea, bananas, citrus fruits, chillies, grapes, and ornamental plants.
• Diseases: It targets diseases such as:
  • Early and Late Blight (on potatoes and tomatoes)
  • Leaf Spot and Fruit Rot (on bananas and chillies)
  • Canker and Leaf Spot (on citrus)
  • Downy Mildew (on grapes and tobacco)
  • Black Rot and Rust (on coffee)

• General Dosage: A common recommendation for many crops like potato, tomato, and banana is 1.0 kg (1000 gm) of formulation per acre in 750-1000 liters of water. For crops like coffee and cardamom, the dosage can be higher, around 1.5 to 2.2 kg per acre.
• Application Method: It is typically applied as a foliar spray. For root-based diseases, a soil drench method may be used.
• Timing: For best results, it should be applied prophylactically (before the disease attacks). In rainy weather, repeat applications at shorter intervals might be necessary.
• Precaution: Note that copper-based fungicides can be phytotoxic to some plants and should be used according to specific label instructions to avoid leaf scorch.
