About Cartap Hydrochloride 50 SP (CAPTAN)

• Active Ingredient: Cartap Hydrochloride (50% concentration).
• Formulation: Soluble Powder (SP), which dissolves easily in water for foliar spraying.
• Mode of Action: It acts as a systemic, contact, and stomach poison. It disrupts the insect's nervous system, leading to rapid paralysis and death.
• Target Pests: Stem borers, leaf folders, bollworms, jassids, thrips, and whorl maggots.
• Target Crops: Primarily Paddy (Rice), but also effective for Cotton, Sugarcane, Tomato, and Cabbage. 

• Dosage: Generally 1.5 to 2.5 grams per litre of water, or as specified on the product label for the particular crop.
• Benefits: It is considered safe for many beneficial insects (making it suitable for Integrated Pest Management) and has low toxicity to mammals when used correctly.
• Precautions: Always wear protective gear (gloves, goggles) and avoid application during high winds or just before rain.
