• Active Ingredient: Validamycin 3% SL.
• Mode of Action: It is a systemic and contact antibiotic that inhibits the synthesis of trehalase, an essential enzyme for fungal cell wall formation, leading to the disruption and death of the fungus. It causes abnormal branching of hyphal tips, stopping further development.
• Target Diseases: Highly effective against Rhizoctonia solani (which causes sheath blight in rice) and other soil-borne diseases like root rot and damping off in various crops. It can also help control certain bacterial diseases.
• Target Crops: Primarily used on rice (paddy), but also suitable for a wide range of crops including tea, cauliflower, soybean, sorghum, sugarcane, beans, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, and chilies.
